Asus Zenfone Max with 5,000 mAh battery is launched

Asus has launched a new phone in India and its called Asus Zenfone Max. This phone was launched last year in August at Asus’ ZenFestival in New Delhi, India. The phone is now available for pre-order in India on Amazon and Flipkart. The phone will cost INR 9,999 (USD 150) and it will be released in market by January 14 (as per the tenattive date given by online retailers).

The biggest selling point of Zenfone Max is its massive 5000 mAh battery which, according to Asus, can be used as a power-bank to charge other phones. With this much power, Asus Zenfone Max claims to last up to 914 hours of standby time and 38 hours of talk time. This phone’s battery capacity puts it in competition with  Gionee Marathon M4 and Lenovo Vibe P1 but both of these devices cost more than INR 15,000. 

As far as the other specifications go, Asus Zenfone Max has a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and runs ZenUI 2.0 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, clocked at 1 GHz with a 2 GB RAM. The internal memory is 16 GB which can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. In terms of camera, the handset features a 13MP front unit and a 5MP front shooter.
