Facebook launched its lite version app for slow 2G connections. Facebook Lite consumes less data, loads quickly and runs faster. The app supports news feeds, status updates, message, notifications and photos. It does not support video and location services.
Facebook Lite is aimed at emerging markets where most people do not have access to high speed internet.
The app is available in Play Store for Indian users. But you can download the app here.
We want to offer people a choice so if there are limitations, they can still get the full Facebook experience.

Currently the app is launched in countries across Asia. It will soon make its way to countries in Latin America, Africa and Europe.
