Finally WhatsApp users get what has been missing from the most popular messaging app. Yes, we are talking about the facility of being able to send documents over WhatsApp. The recent update of the app came with some minor tweaks but the major addition was the much needed document attachment option. The latest update can be downloaded from here or you can also update the app from Google Playstore.
For now WhatsApp only support sending the PDF files and you can only send it to those who has the updated version of the app. But it seems that there will be upgradation in the feature to send more file types like DOC, PPT etc. To send the document, you need to tap on the “paperclip” (attachment) sign at the right-top corner of your chat-screen. There you will find the “Document” option, tap on that and you will see the documents on your phone listed up there for you to choose. There used to be the option to send “Video” there but now to send a video you will have to tap on “Gallery” icon and there you will find two tabs of image and video.
Other new things that this update are plenty of new emoticons, Google Drive Backup for chats and media, support for 5 new languages, and WhatsApp is now is compatible with Android 6.0 Marshmallow permissions.
Thanks ! I came to know from your blog only.
